For the second-straight year, NDSU baseball player Jayse McLean has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
McLean is the 20th all-time selection – University & College Division – to the team from NDSU, while he is the sixth to earn a spot in multiple years. He joins Brian Bachmeier and Tim Colwell as the only players in school history to be named to the first team multiple times.
A redshirt senior from Great Falls, Montana, McLean maintained a perfect 4.00 grade-point average while majoring in mechanical engineering and currently has a 4.00 GPA in Graduate School.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his or her current institution and be nominated by the school’s sports information director.
