The NDSU Extension Service is co-sponsoring the Women in Agriculture conferences on Feb. 9-10 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo and on Feb. 10-11 at the Memorial Building in Devils Lake, N.D.

The program begins at 6 p.m. on the first evening with a meal followed by a program titled, “You Can Buy the Farm, But Remember, I Still Own It,” by keynote speaker Ron Hanson, professor of agribusiness at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Husbands also are invited to attend this session.

The second day of both conferences begins with another keynote address from Hanson called, “Fence Posts Talking to Each Other and Unspoken Words.” This will be followed by a series of concurrent sessions titled "Fair Treatment of Heirs," "ACRE – Farm Bill Explanation," "Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plates?" "Volatile Livestock Prices and Risk Protection Insurance," "Farm Records for Decision Making," "Not Just for Taxes," "Updates from North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring," "Farm Business Arrangements – Pros and Cons of Different Business Structures" and "Choosing the Right Crop Marketing Tools at the Right Times."

Several NDSU Extension Service specialists and agents, Adult Farm Business Management instructors and other agribusiness professionals, will present the sessions. The conferences end at 4 p.m. on the second day.
