NDSU Staff Senate has made a $1,626.50 contribution to the Emergency Food Pantry. The gift was made possible through the sale of cookbooks published by Staff Senate.

The Staff Senate Cookbook Committee sold a total of 500 cookbooks during the fundraising effort. The 243-page spiral-bound book contained 427 recipes submitted by university staff members.

“I want to thank all the staff of NDSU who participated,” said Laura Dallmann, committee chair, as she presented the gift on March 3. “I think this endeavor was a shining example of how strong, caring and dedicated NDSU’s staff is. I also want to thank students and faculty for their support in the cookbook sales.”

“This contribution means a lot to us. This is just wonderful,” said Linda Clark, coordinator of the Emergency Food Pantry. “It will help us with the daily, necessary things people ask for. We’re going to stock up on laundry soap, dish soap, diapers, shavers, shampoo – I have a whole list of items. So, I’m going right out to buy the things we need.”

The Staff Senate Cookbook Committee members include Dallmann, Rita Prunty, Pam Hommen, Chris Anderson, Janine Trowbridge, Christina Fischer, Tammy Ross and Kelly Bisek. Dallman also acknowledged assistance provided by Kris Mickelson, Heather Heger and Vance Olson, Staff Senate president.
