Rachel Brudvik joined the Northern Crops Institute staff in February as a food technologist. She will perform laboratory analyses on northern-grown crops, assist with pilot-scale processing and participate in demonstrations and training for domestic and international short course participants and trade teams.

“We welcome Rachel into her new position at Northern Crops Institute and look forward to working with her. Rachel will focus primarily on wheat and other cereal grains. However, she will work with all crops as an important addition to our technical team,” said institute director Brian Sorenson.

Brudvik, a Fargo native, earned a bachelor’s degree in food science at NDSU. She worked with canola and canola biodiesel as a research specialist from 2008-10 for the NDSU Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and was a student lab assistant for three years in the NDSU Department of Cereal and Food Science.
