NDSU senior interior design students Ashley Hansen and Amanda Weigelt were among 12 finalists competing in the Pave the Way 3D Design Challenge for college students in store design, interior design, visual merchandising and industrial design programs. Hansen was awarded third place and $1,000 for her Fendi Eyewear Display. Weigelt received an honorable mention and $500 for her Oakley Eyewear Display.
The competition offers students a chance to see their designs come to life, gain exposure at a major industry trade show and win cash awards. The student awards were announced at the A.R.E. Design Awards on March 10 at GlobalShop in Las Vegas.
