The NDSU Division of Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach has planned the Green and Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday, April 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Beckwith Recital Hall in the Reineke Fine Arts Center. The awards will honor students, faculty, staff and community members that have contributed to the education of international, multicultural, veterans and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) students at NDSU.
The Equity and Diversity Center will award scholarships for the first ever LGBTQ Student Scholarship and the NDSU Student U.S. Veteran Scholarship. The Office of International Programs will award International Programs Junior and Senior Scholarships and the Wold Student Study Abroad Scholarship. The Office Multicultural Programs will recognize the Alliance for Minority Participation Scholarships and will award, for the first time, the Prem and Raj Jauhar Book Scholarship, the Ram Lal Jauhar Memorial Scholarship and the Office of Multicultural Programs Scholarship. The Tribal College Initiative will award two Tribal College Initiative Book Scholarships. Students served by those departments who made the 2009 fall dean’s list or are 2010 spring and summer graduates also will be recognized for their accomplishments.
Gates Millennium Scholars and recipients of the Annexstad Family Foundation Scholarships will be honored and the President’s Diversity Council Impact Award recipient will be named. Groups and individuals from each department within the Division of Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach also will receive a Green and Golden Globe Award. Recipients are:
