Gladiator Games, a Campus Live event, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, at 9:30 p.m. at the North Dakota State University Wallman Wellness Center. Campus Live events are late night activities for students that take place on Saturday nights across campus. Events typically last from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. and are sponsored by the President's Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs.
Participants are entered in a drawing for an iPod Touch, iTunes gift cards and Bison merchandise from the NDSU Bookstore. Free pizza and beverages will be served.
Events include the wall, an obstacle course, the joust and the assault. Participants will get a head start as they scale the pinnacle wall with a flag football belt around their waist. After a set period of time (depending on ability), the gladiator will try to pull the flag off their belt. During the obstacle course, competitors will go head-to-head with a gladiator through an inflatable obstacle course. Participants will compete against a gladiator in an inflatable Joust game. In the assault, competitors will throw objects toward a target while trying to avoid being hit with dodge balls thrown by gladiators guarding the target.
Additional activities include Wii Olympics, Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Texas Hold'em. For every activity in which an individual participates, they will get two additional entries for the drawings. Anyone who beats a gladiator will receive five additional entries. All NDSU students are invited and are allowed to bring friends.
Participation is not required to win prizes.
