Adnan Akyüz, assistant professor of climatology at North Dakota State University, will visit Kennedy Elementary School in Fargo to teach students about the Red River floods. The presentation is planned for Tuesday, March 9, at 12:30 p.m. in the first grade pod.
Akyüz will discuss why the Red River is prone to chronic floods, the formula for major flooding, indications of current condition, a comparison of previous floods and weighing the odds for the 2010 flood.
