President Dean L. Bresciani has named Bruce Bollinger vice president for finance and administration. Interim president Richard Hanson appointed Bollinger on March 18 to a one-year contract.
Bollinger has been with NDSU since 1987 and became director of the Agriculture Budget Office in 1998. Bresciani said Bollinger's experience in finance at NDSU and within the North Dakota University System made him a natural choice for the job.
"There may be others with the same professional qualifications as Bruce, but not with the knowledge of or credibility within NDSU and the state," said Bresciani. "He has a excellent reputation with the agricultural community and the state legislature and by wide-spread consensus, has both excelled and brought a new sense of integrity while serving as the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
North Dakota University System Chancellor William Goetz said he was pleased with the appointment.
"Given Mr. Bollinger's reputation and performance over the past several months, it's a good time to assure stability and leadership in that area," said Goetz.
Bollinger will receive a salary of $166,200. He replaces John Adams who resigned in early March.
