Speaker to provide Washington-insider perspective on F-M diversion project

Ed Dickey, former acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, Washington, D.C., will share insights on federal water projects on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Union Hidatsa room. The presentation is open to all NDSU students, faculty and staff.

While Dickey worked for the federal government, he was responsible for a variety of policies and programs relating to federal water management activities, including the planning of new water resource investments for navigation, flood damage reduction and ecosystem restoration. His successes as a member of the Federal Senior Executive Service were acknowledged by two Presidential Rank Awards, including Meritorious Executive in 1988 and Distinguished Executive in 1993.

Dickey is currently an affiliate professor of economics in the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland, where he teaches economics to MBA students.
