Music faculty performances

Benjamin Sung, violin instructor with the NDSU Department of Music, performed with the 8th Street Quartet for the Chamber Music season opener Oct. 2 and 3 in Fergus Falls, Minn. The ensemble, which also includes Jane Linde Capistran, Tim Nelson and Elise Buffat Nelson, performed selections from Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite,” the “Heiliger Dankgesang” movement from Beethoven’s Op. 132 quartet, the scherzo from Schubert’s Cello Quintet, the first movement from Smetana’s autobiographical quartet “From My Life” and the “American” Quartet by Dvorak. Chamber Music is presented by the Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and Minnesota State Arts Board.

Eric Vigesaa, horn instructor with the NDSU Department of Music, has been invited to perform with the Yellowstone Chamber Players Oct. 31 in Billings, Mont. He will perform the Beethoven Sextet, Opus 81b for string quartet and two horns. This is Vigesaa’s third appearance with the Yellowstone Chamber Players.
