Sumathy Krishnan, associate professor in mechanical engineering, and Samee Khan, assistant professor in electrical and computer engineering, and two professors at the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Pakistan have been awarded a two-year grant of more than $290,000 for their project, “A Hybrid Solar Water Heating System Using CO2 as Working Fluid.” The main goal is to develop an ecologically safe hybrid system for water heating and space heating applications. The project is sponsored by the Pakistan-U.S. Science and Technology Cooperation Program, jointly administered by the National Academies and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
NDSU is close to finalizing an agreement with COMSATS to have their faculty members come to NDSU for doctoral study.
