Seim Hall resident assistants and NDSU students volunteered for the United Way Day of Caring on Oct. 14. Sherri Stastny, assistant professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, served as faculty mentor and organized the team. The group cleaned gutters, trimmed shrubs, raked leaves and got acquainted with a neighbor in north Fargo.
According to Thomas Hill, community impact associate at United Way, the annual Day of Caring is the largest volunteer event of the year for the United Way of Cass-Clay. The event mobilized 1,335 volunteers to help 447 senior citizens in Cass and Clay Counties.
