NDSU Publications Services won eight gold awards and a Judge's Choice Award at the 2010 American Advertising Federation of North Dakota ADDY Awards held Feb. 25 at the Ramada Plaza in Fargo.
More than 530 entries were judged by a panel of out-of-state judges, who awarded 72 Gold ADDY Awards and 94 Silver ADDY Awards to the most creative, original and effective work from across the state. Three Judge's Choice awards and one Best of Show also were chosen.
The ADDY Awards is an annual three-tier contest of the American Advertising Federation. Gold winners from the North Dakota contest advance to the District 8 competition, which includes all local winners from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Gold winners at this level advance to the national competition. Entries are judged in diverse categories such as sales promotion, interactive media, print, radio and television advertising, as well as categories for work completed by area college students.
NDSU Publications Services’ direct mail campaign created for the Office of Admission won a gold ADDY and a Judge's Choice award.
NDSU's other gold awards included:
• The 2010 NDSU International Week campaign
• NDSU Athletics media guide covers, done for NDSU Athletics
• A brochure for the Office of Admission
• The "Run Through SU" T-shirt, for the Wellness Center
• A brochure for the environmental and conservation sciences department
• A brochure for the joint NDSU/UND doctoral history program
• A poster for "Life in the Treetops," a lectureship event presented by the College of Science and Mathematics
Publications Services staff recognized for their work include Brad Clemenson, Janelle Kistner, Rebekka DeVries, Beth Hagemeister, Katie Elenberger, Dan Koeck and Kathy Laid.
