NDSU scholarships help make an exceptional education even more affordable for talented students just like you.

“We are pleased to offer a number of scholarships to incoming NDSU students as a way to recognize outstanding academic achievement,” said Seinquis Leinin, associate director of admission. “It is our hope that scholarships remove financial barriers and allow students the ability to focus on excelling in their studies and extracurricular interests.”

Check out the different scholarships we offer first-year students.

Guaranteed scholarships

You can be awarded a guaranteed scholarship up to $12,000 over four years to put toward your education, depending on your qualifications.

These awards are automatically triggered by your GPA and test scores. All you need to do is apply and gain admission to NDSU by Feb. 1, if you meet scholarship criteria. No other applications are necessary. See our first-year scholarship opportunities to see how much you could be awarded.

If you complete the admission process after Feb. 1, you will be considered for scholarships on a funds-available basis. Apply to NDSU now, so you can take advantage of guaranteed scholarship money for your education.

Other scholarship opportunities

High school students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and score 22 or higher on the ACT, or 1,100 or higher combined on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math, are encouraged to apply for named scholarships. The deadline for these also is Feb. 1.

Some academic departments also award other scholarships. Check with your major’s college or department for details.

Unlike the guaranteed scholarships, you will need to specifically apply for named, college and department scholarships. You’ll receive more information after you are admitted.

Apply early

Apply early for optimal consideration. Submit your admission application now and then apply for NDSU scholarships when you’re admitted.
