NDSU’s Department of Computer Science offers multiple graduate degrees, including options for online and distance education.
Programs are available in both computer science and software engineering. A Master of Software Engineering and computer science education certificate are available fully online.
The Master of Software Engineering program is focused on the application of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software systems.
The graduate certificate in computer science education primarily serves to give high school teachers credentials necessary to teach dual credit and AP courses. The curriculum covers the core concepts of computer science as well as how to teach them.
“My graduate degree has allowed me to gain additional knowledge with higher level courses,” said David Schwartz, a master’s student in computer science. “My ability to solve open-ended questions has also greatly increased.”
