Cynthia Torges, assistant professor of human development and family science, will present “Positive Aging” on Thursday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Edgewood Vista movie theater, located at 4420 37th Ave. S., Fargo.
The talk is part of the human development and family science department’s “Bringing Science to You” Community Presentations. It will be followed by a question/answer session and a brief reception with snacks and beverages.
The media and larger culture often promote youthful attributes as signals of positive aging. In this presentation Torges will discuss positive aging from a different perspective, highlighting the unique characteristics that come with age, such as a connection to past generations and broader perspective on oneself and on life.
Continuing education credits are available for attending the talk.
