NDSU plant sciences graduate student Nathan Haugrud was recognized by the Western Society of Weed Science as a regional winner for outstanding oral presentation.
Haugrud, from Rothsay, Minnesota, was among nearly three dozen students from universities in the U.S. and Canada acknowledged for outstanding research-related presentations and proposals during the joint conference of the Western Society of Weed Science and the Weed Science Society of America.
“We are proud to single out this new generation of weed scientists, who are actively engaged in research,” says William Curran, president of the organization. “They are already making significant contributions to our discipline by advancing our understanding of the biology and management of weeds.”
