An NDSU student arrives at Move-In Day early drop off for the 2020-21 academic year.
Move-in is set to look a little different this year at NDSU. In order to help maintain a healthy campus, move-in will be spread out over eight days instead of the typical half-day on Saturday. Students will have two options – early drop off or move-in at the start of the semester. Both options require students to sign up for a specific arrival time slot.
Students selecting early drop off may bring their belongings to campus starting Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 7. Each residence hall will have specific arrival time slots for students to select for early drop off. Students can return to campus Saturday, August 22 to begin living on campus.
Students choosing to wait and move in closer to the start of the semester can schedule their arrival time slot between Thursday, August 20 and Saturday, August 22 and begin living on campus immediately.
All move-in participants must wear face coverings when around others, both indoors and outdoors, while on the NDSU campus.
“We’re excited to welcome students back to NDSU. Campus hasn’t been the same without them. We have implemented new processes and precautions to help make the move-in experience as smooth as possible,” said Rian Nostrum, Residence Life director, noting volunteers will be on site to help answer questions and point students in the right direction.
Additional precautionary measures include:
· Lofts will be fully assembled in rooms prior to student arrival.
· Doors will be propped open to avoid commonly-touched surfaces
· Directional signage in the hall will help with the flow of traffic and minimize congestion points
· Additional hand sanitizing stations will be present in the halls
· Custodial team will be onsite and implementing ongoing cleaning and disinfecting
· Students are asked to bring no more than 2 people with during the move in process.
About 3,200 students are anticipated to check in at the NDSU residence halls this fall semester.
