Students selected to foster understanding and inclusivity at NDSU

This fall a new group of students will help foster a safe, welcoming and inclusive campus at NDSU.

Twenty-seven students were selected as Equity and Diversity Student Ambassadors. They will help new international students and underrepresented students get acquainted with the campus and community, assist with diversity programming efforts, conduct diversity training workshops for student groups, provide peer mentoring and help host division events.

The students will attend a mandatory training session in August. The training will entail participating in Community of Respect training, Safe Zone Ally training and sexual harassment training to learn more about all areas of diversity represented at NDSU.

The Division of Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach established the group to engage current NDSU students with making NDSU a welcoming campus climate for everyone and to help develop a network of peer mentors.

“This particular group of students has already demonstrated an incredible amount of enthusiasm and commitment to the work at hand,” said Evie Myers, vice president for equity, diversity and global outreach. “I look forward to seeing the impact of their leadership here on campus.”
