Ramona Danielson, NDSU assistant professor in the Department of Public Health, is scheduled to give the department’s first seminar of the spring semester. She is set to present “The Role of Trauma-Informed Principles in Advancing Healthy and Safe Communities” via Zoom on Monday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m.
Adverse childhood experiences, known as ACEs, can have effects across a person’s lifespan, and can have a far-reaching impact on public health. Danielson will discuss how trauma-informed principles can be used to create supportive environments and relationships with ripple effects in public health.
Danielson has 21 years of experience in applied social and public health research. Her research interests include health equity, adverse childhood experiences, trauma-informed practices, social determinants of health, life course and community self-healing. She is a master trainer for ACE Interface in North Dakota.
