A memorial service for Lyle Hokanson, longtime NDSU athletics events announcer, is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the NDSU Alumni Center, with a gathering of friends one hour prior to the service.
Hokanson died Aug. 10 in his home in Fargo. He was 65.
Hokanson retired from NDSU on June 30 as assistant equipment manager in the Bison Sports Arena. He also was known as the “Voice of the Bison,” as he was the public address announcer for NDSU games and track and field meets.
His greatest love was NDSU and he often said, “Once a Bison, always a Bison.”
