Alumnus to present poetry reading and seminar at NDSU

Hillol Ray, MS ’77, will present a poetry reading on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Mandan room as part of the English department’s Cosgrove Seminars Series.

He also will present a seminar titled “Brief Overview of the EPA Region 6 Drinking Water Enforcement Program” on Friday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Civil and Industrial Engineering building room 205. Ray’s presentation will cover information and challenges on the drinking water enforcement programs at the federal government level.

A poet, engineer and advocate for the environment, Ray is from West Bengal, India. He began writing poetry at the age of six. He has served private industry and the Environmental Protection Agency for more than 34 years.

His awards include the Albert Einstein Award of Excellence in 2011. His humanitarian efforts include past works with Mother Teresa of Calcutta/Kolkata, India, along with his establishment of the Hillol Ray Foundation for Human Rights, the Hillol Ray Foundation for Peace & Environment and "Diamond" Think Tank, USA.
