Sarah Crary was named online programs coordinator by the NDSU Office of Teaching and Learning. Crary will work with NDSU colleges and departments offering or interested in offering an online program. NDSU currently offers 35 online degrees and certificates with several more in development.
“I am excited to further NDSU’s land grant mission by helping coordinate programs offered in a flexible format which provides higher education access to more individuals” Crary said.
In addition to ensuring the quality of the program, Crary will assist programs in coordinating all the elements needed to design, launch, and administer an online program.
“I look forward to using my skills in educational leadership to help create a world-class slate of online degrees for individuals from across the state, region, and nation to participate in,” Crary said.
Crary has a doctorate in K-12 educational leadership from the University of North Dakota, and a master’s in K-12 educational leadership and bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Crary began her career at NDSU in 2018 in the School of Education as a faculty member within the educational and organizational leadership program. She primarily worked with educators who wanted to expand their leadership skills and abilities towards becoming a teacher leader or a building-level leader. Her research interests include information literacy, fostering equal access for blended learning and understanding the experiences of new Americans in small urban settings. She also is the co-principal investigator for a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Teachers grant that helps teachers develop authentic hands-on lessons related to civil engineering. Crary’s service at NDSU has largely focused on accreditation as well as curriculum and program development.
The NDSU Office of Teaching and Learning offers educational experts and affiliated faculty and staff who work to develop successful programs. It is also a supportive place to find assistance to strengthen teaching. Representatives from NDSU colleges and departments interested in offering an online program may contact the Office of Teaching and Learning at 701-231-7015 or by email at ndsu.otl@ndsu.edu.
