Several NDSU Extension Service faculty in animal science, plant science, veterinary medicine and agricultural and biosystems engineering recently assisted area Boy Scouts earn agriculture-related merit badges.
On Aug. 18, the faculty worked with the Boy Scouts of America as part of the International Camperall. Ken Hellevang, professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering, coordinated and organized activities where scouts worked to earn 17 merit badges. According to Hellevang, about 250 scouts were involved in the camperall activities.
Other faculty who took part included Carl Dahlen, Cole Rupprecht, Carolyn Hammer, Reid Redden, Justin Crosswhite, John Nowatzki, Tom Gulya, Ron Smith, Dave Franzen and Charlie Stoltenow.
