The 15th annual NDSU Engineering and Tech Expo sponsored by the NDSU Career Center is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fargodome. The expo connects NDSU students with employers from many engineering and technology-related industries to discuss current and/or future career opportunities.
“Engineering and technology are areas at NDSU that are nationally recognized. Hosting this event literally brings employers from across the country to interview our students and alumni for internships and full-time positions,” said Jill Wilkey, director of the NDSU Career Center. “We recognized employers were very interested in engineering and technology students in the late 90s and that is why we initially created the event separate from an all-majors expo.”
Wilkey said this year will be the largest expo the center has hosted with 171 employers. She said the registered employers are primarily based in the Midwest, but also come from other areas of the country.
Last year nearly 130 employers and 1,240 students took part in the event.
The expo is open to NDSU students and alumni and current students from Minnesota State University Moorhead Construction Management and Industrial Technology departments. The expo is not open to the general public.
Individuals with disabilities are invited to request reasonable accommodations to participate in NDSU-sponsored programs and events. To request an accommodation(s), contact the Career Center at 701-231-7111.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
