North Dakota State University President’s Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs will hold a Town Hall Meeting Monday, Oct. 29, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the issue of high-risk drinking with community stakeholders, campus leaders and elected officials. The facilitated discussion will include an overview of the problems associated with high-risk drinking in North Dakota and discussion of possible solutions.

The council will also share milestones and gather feedback on its strategic plan. Council chair Gene Taylor said, “the Town Hall Meeting is a chance for us to reconnect with our community stakeholders – both on and off campus – to ensure the council is sharing the progress that has been made on our strategic plan to address high-risk alcohol and other drug use and encouraging our partners to take an active role in continuing to work on this important issue.”

The meeting is sponsored by NDSU with funding provided by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
