International Education Week events scheduled at NDSU

NDSU is celebrating International Education Week Nov. 13-16. Several events have been planned to teach participants about the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.

International Education Week events include:

Tuesday, Nov. 13
Facebook photo contest
Like your favorite photos from students studying abroad during fall 2012. Voting begins Nov. 13 and ends Dec. 3 at noon at www.facebook.com/ndsustudyabroad.

5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Memorial Union Room of Nations
Learn how to gain first-hand experience with Third World social issues through an exciting 10-day study abroad program during spring break 2013. The program is open to students from any major.

Wednesday, Nov. 14
2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Morrill Hall room 109
Learn more about grant opportunities available to students for study/research projects or English teaching assistantships through the U.S. Fulbright Program.

4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Family Life Center room 212
Learn why Transilvania is the land of Dracula and the real story about the count and his land. The summer 2013 program is open to students from any major.

Thursday, Nov. 15
2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Memorial Union Hidatsa room
Returned study abroad students share their amazing experiences about life abroad in a panel titled “A Day in the Life.”

Friday, Nov. 16
11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Equity and Diversity Center
The International Food Festival showcases cuisine from across the globe and prepared by volunteers. Cost is $3 for members of the International Student Association and $5 for non-members. The event is sponsored by the International Student Association.

5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Memorial Union Hidatsa room
Free salsa dance lessons are offered at this event sponsored by the Hispanic Organization of Latin America.
