Innovation Week ’13 will conclude on Thursday, Feb. 28, with a brown bag seminar, keynote address and awards ceremony for Innovation Challenge ’13. The events are free and open to the public.
Brown Bag seminar: Developing your team and finding talent
Dave Batcheller, president and chief operating officer of Appareo Systems, Fargo, N.D., will present “Developing your team and finding talent,” from 12:15-1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Century Theater.
Throughout Appareo’s rapid growth and commercial success as a provider of custom design electronics and software applications, Batcheller has worked to fill gaps in the company’s roster, having roles in everything from purchasing and sales to marketing and development. In his current role, he oversees the operation of the company’s Fargo, Phoenix and Paris locations, with responsibilities for finance, administration, engineering and production.
Batcheller graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Keynote address and awards ceremony
Entrepreneur, scholar and author Randal Pinkett will give the Innovation Week ’13 keynote address in the Memorial Union Great Plains Ballroom. The Innovation Challenge ’13 awards ceremony will follow. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the keynote address will begin at 5 p.m.
Pinkett is the founder, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, a multimillion-dollar management consulting and information technology solutions firm. He is the author of several books, including “Campus CEO.” He holds five academic degrees and was the first and only African-American to receive the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship at Rutgers University.
