NDSU head women’s volleyball coach Kari Thompson announced the hiring of a new assistant coach to fill one of two vacancies on her staff.
Sarah Rauen, an assistant the past three seasons at Green Bay, takes over for Shari Davis, who resigned earlier this year. NDSU’s other full-time assistant, Jason Reed, was hired as the head coach at the University of Indianapolis.
Rauen will assist in all areas of the NDSU program with an emphasis on defense and passing skills, recruiting in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and supervising academic progress.
“Sarah’s expertise in coaching defensive players and serve reception will be vital to our program’s success,” Thompson said. “She is a hard-working, intelligent coach and believes in our Bison values. Sarah is dedicated to the success of the student-athlete and knows what it takes to be successful both on the court and in the classroom.”
Rauen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Green Bay with a degree in human biology in December 2007.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
