This summer NDSU will offer third through eighth grade students the chance to learn about topics in science, technology, engineering and math, commonly known as STEM. Registration is now open for a series of 2013 Summer STEM Kids Camps, which will be held on the NDSU campus.
The hands-on learning camps are offered four different weeks throughout June and July. The cost is $89 per class and discounts are available for children attending multiple classes or for those sending multiple children from the same family.

The STEM Kids Camps are scheduled for:
Session 1: Monday, June 10 to Thursday, June 13
- 9 a.m. to noon – Construction Materials (grades 3-5)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Computing and Games (grades 6-8)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Prehistoric Creatures, Glowing Minerals and Rocks that Tell Stories (grades 6-8)
Session 2: Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20
- 9 a.m. to noon – Construction Materials (grades 3-5)
- 9 a.m. to noon – Robot Rumble (grades 3-5)
- 9 a.m. to noon – The Great Health Care Adventure (grades 3-5)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Prehistoric Creatures, Glowing Minerals and Rocks that Tell Stories (grades 6-8)
Session 3: Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18
- 9 a.m. to noon – Construction Materials (grades 3-5)
- 9 a.m. to noon – Gear Heads (grades 3-5)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Engineering Adventures (grades 6-8)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – STEM Explorers (grades 6-8)
Session 4: Monday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25
- 9 a.m. to noon – Construction Materials (grades 3-5)
- 9 a.m. to noon – Crime Scene Science (grades 3-5)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Crime Scene Science (grades 3-5)
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – STEM Explorers (grades 6-8)
NDSU also offers a summer reading program for children and adults. Eight different reading skills programs are designed and taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development.
