The 15th annual North Dakota Association of the Blind’s Walk for Vision is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, at the NDSU Bison Sports Arena. Registration will begin at the building’s south entrance at 9 a.m. and the walk will kickoff at 9:30 a.m. Gene Taylor, NDSU director of athletics, will serve as the walk’s honorary chair.
“I am pleased to be able to serve as honorary chair once again for such a great cause,” Taylor said. “The challenges that face those with loss of sight is something most of us can never imagine.”
The association has a long history of community service as a nonprofit, membership organization that offers service programs to help people and families affected by blindness. Proceeds from the walk are the primary source of funding for the association’s service programs offered to people who have visual impairments.
More than 18,000 North Dakota residents are blind or have a visual impairment that cannot be corrected.
