The first-ever recipients of the Academic Advising Awards at NDSU will be honored during a ceremony on Friday, May 3, at 8 a.m. near the Advising Resource Center in the Memorial Union. Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
Provost J. Bruce Rafert will present Janice Haggart, an instructor in the Department of Veterinary and Microbiological Sciences, with the Outstanding Faculty Advising Award and Linda Fricker, academic adviser for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, with the Outstanding Professional Adviser Award.
The Office of the Provost established the awards in November 2012 to highlight the importance of academic advising at NDSU by recognizing advisers who are committed to helping undergraduate students reach their full potential.
Haggart and Fricker also will be honored at the annual Celebration of Faculty Excellence on Thursday, May 2, at 3 p.m. at the Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
