Russ Danielson, professor emeritus of animal sciences, will be honored with the Legacy Award by the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. The Honor the Honorees Banquet is scheduled for June 21 at the Center of Western Heritage and Cultures in Medora, N.D. The hall of fame’s board of directors presents the award to individuals who donate their time, efforts and leadership to the organization.
Danielson graduated from NDSU with a degree in animal science in 1964. His career in NDSU’s animal sciences department spanned 44 years of teaching and research. He also was a mentor and adviser to NDSU’s Little International and Saddle and Sirloin Club. After his retirement in 2010, a new scholarship was created with the NDSU Development Foundation to honor Danielson’s contributions to the North Dakota livestock industry.
