Animal sciences faculty members Anna Grazul-Bilska and Vern Anderson recently were invited speakers at significant events.
Anna Grazul-Bilska, professor of animal sciences, gave an invited talk June 5 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, in Warsaw, Poland, where she discussed the role of diet in the regulations of ovarian functions. On June 7, she gave an invited presentation at the University of Warmia and Mazuria, Olsztyn, Poland, which was organized by the regional sections of the Polish Society of Physiology and Society of Reproductive Physiology. In addition, she gave a June 10 presentation at the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Olsztyn.
Grazul-Bilska met with students and faculty at each institution. For students, she described how to get information about graduate programs at NDSU and other U.S. universities and how to apply to Graduate School. With faculty, she discussed their research programs and possible collaborations.
Vern Anderson, animal sciences adjunct faculty member, spoke at the Midwest Association of State Departments of Agriculture summer meeting June 22, in Medora, N.D. Anderson spoke at the invitation of North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. Anderson presented an overview of agricultural production in North Dakota for both crops and livestock. He also discussed the challenges and opportunities for livestock production in the future.
