NDSU Staff Senate sponsors ‘Food and Funds’ drive

SHARE

NDSU Staff Senate is sponsoring a campus drive during July to support the programs and services of the Great Plains Food Bank.

According to the Staff Senate Public Relations Committee, many children go without adequate food during the summer months because they do not receive a regular lunch at school, making summer a time a need for the food bank.

Collection bins for donated food items are located in front of the NDSU Bookstore in the Memorial Union, near the Barry Hall coffee shop, IACC 206 and Van Es Hall.

Cash donations also can be made through NDSU Marketplace at http://tinyurl.com/m6w7rc6.

Every dollar raised enables the Great Plains Food Bank to recover and distribute $8.30 worth of food to children, seniors and working families in the community. A $50 donation provides 200 meals to persons in need. Monetary donations allow the food bank to purchase specific items in low supply.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
