Head men's basketball coach Saul Phillips announced the hiring of Josh Vaughan as director of operations on Wednesday, July 17. Vaughan replaces Jared Swanson, who resigned to pursue another job opportunity.
Vaughan was an assistant coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead the past two seasons under Chad Walthall. He was the director of operations for Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., for the 2010-11 season.
"Josh is a terrific addition to our staff," Phillips said. "He already had a leadership role with some of our players as a senior and is able to communicate well with players. He had terrific experience as the director of operations for an NCAA tournament team at Wofford."
Vaughan played four seasons at NDSU from 2006-10. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport and recreation studies in May 2010.
NDSU is recognized as one of the top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
