The NDSU softball team has added former Drake University standout Brynne Dordel as an assistant coach. She will work with pitchers.
“We are very excited to have Brynne on our coaching staff. She brings a great deal of knowledge and success to our program,” said Bison head coach Darren Mueller. “She is an up-and-coming coach and will do a great job with our pitchers.”
Dordel was the pitching coach at Ball State University in Indiana the past two seasons, helping the Cardinals to two consecutive Mid-American Conference regular season championships.
A four-year starting pitcher at Drake in Iowa, Dordel led the Bulldogs to the 2008 Missouri Valley Conference title and the program’s first NCAA tournament since 1994. She was named MVP of the 2008 conference tournament.
Dordel, who graduated from Drake with a 4.0 grade point average, is from Chaska, Minn.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation’s top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
