“The Moby-Dick Series,” an exhibition by Kim Bromley, professor of painting, is scheduled for Aug. 23 through Jan. 19, 2014, at the Plains Art Museum, Fargo.

Inspired by “Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville, the large-scale series of oil paintings focus on the allegorical power of the epic novel and its themes of struggle and obsession. Bromley often uses the book as a teaching tool.

Bromley’s work also will be featured in the Ruth and Seymour Landfield Atrium, as well as the Xcel Energy Gallery, later in the season.
