NDSU senior setter Kelley Johnson has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team.
Johnson picks up CSC Academic All-America honors for the second straight season after being named to the first team in 2022. She becomes the second player in program history to have won the award in back-to-back seasons after Jeni Jost earned the honor in 1994 and 1995. The award was originally named CoSIDA Academic All-America.
Johnson has a 4.00 GPA in biological sciences and passed out 1,163 total assists this season to push her career total to 4,019, which ranks sixth all-time in NDSU history. Her 4,019 career assists finished ranked 14th among active players in NCAA Division I this season. The Eagan, Minnesota, native led the Summit League and ranked 29th in the nation with 10.48 assists per set.
Johnson was named the Summit League Setter of the Year, earned a spot on the All-Summit League First Team and was tabbed the Summit League Scholar of the Championship for the second straight season earlier this year. She also landed a spot on the Summit League Academic All-League Team for the third time in her career.
Johnson joins Logan Case (Western Michigan), Caitie Baird (Stanford), Kayley Cassaday (Tulsa), Iman Isanovic (Washington State), Magda Jehlarova (Washington State), Lexi Rodriguez (Nebraska) and Kendra Wait (Creighton) as the only repeat selections in the country this season.
