Shape Your Future
NDSU students are encouraged to collaborate with an advisor and develop a unique program of study that meets their specific interests.
Energy Engineering: Buildings Option
Through this option you’ll learn about how energy is transformed from a source or intermediate form to another desired form (e.g. heat or electricity), and on how energy is stored, allowing you to identify, formulate and solve energy engineering problems related to the use of energy in buildings and meeting the energy demands of buildings.
Energy Engineering: Generation Option
Through this option you’ll learn about how energy is transformed from a source or intermediate form to another desired form (e.g. heat or electricity), and on how energy is stored, allowing you to identify, formulate and solve energy engineering problems related to the generation of energy from a source to the desired output (with a focus on usable heat and electricity as outputs), and how energy can be stored and discharged.
Energy Engineering: Vehicles Option
Through this option you’ll learn about how energy is used and transformed in vehicles to provide propulsion and energy for it, allowing you to identify, formulate and solve energy engineering problems related to the use of energy in vehicles, such as how a fuel is transformed to provide a work output and the use of electrochemical sources in vehicles.
