Shape Your Future
NDSU students are encouraged to collaborate with an advisor and develop a unique program of study that meets their specific interests.
Comprehensive Curriculum
The first year of the program begins with the General Military Course, where you’ll learn the mission and structure of the Air Force and Space Force and take a look at what military life is like. The Professional Officer Course is the second half of the four-year program taken during your junior and senior years, providing an in-depth look at leadership styles and their applications.
Obligation
If you aren’t on an AFROTC scholarship, you have no obligation to the Air Force or Space Force during your freshman and sophomore years of school, and you are able to keep all your options open while you take an in-depth look at the Air Force and Space Force and the opportunities they have to offer. The length of your commitment upon graduation is dependent on the career you pick when entering active duty.
Financial Assistance
AFROTC college scholarships are awarded to the best-qualified students and range in length from one to five years. These grants cover your tuition, incidental lab fees and up to $900 a year for textbooks. In addition, you receive a tiered monthly allowance. For example, if you’re enrolled in the Professional Officer Corps you receive $450 per month during your junior academic year and $500 per month during your senior academic year.
