Choose a Path That Works for You
You’ll choose from one of four options; agronomy, biotechnology, science and weed science as an emphasis, subplan or track as part of the CWS program to allow refinement in the direction of your career goals.
Rewarding Research
Work alongside expert faculty in the department by getting involved in cutting-edge research. Basic and applied research in plant sciences is extensive and includes small grains, beans, oilseeds, alternative crops, horticulture, forestry, turfgrass and weed science.
Professional Development and Leadership
Broaden your horizons and expand your experience outside of the classroom through student organizations, including the Agronomy Club, which invites industry and academic experts to speak about professional opportunities and activities during club meetings. Participation in student organizations helps build strong connections with peers and industry leaders while building on skills learned in class.
Accelerated Master’s Option Available
High-achieving undergraduates can complete both their bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in plant sciences in five years.
