The in-depth curriculum covers areas in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, health, production management, evaluation, horsemanship and equitation to provide you with a well-rounded, science-based education.
Professional Development and Leadership
Broaden your horizons and expand your experience outside of the classroom through student organizations, including the NDSU Horsemen’s Association, which provides a variety of equine-related outreach activities, and the NDSU Rodeo Club, which provides students the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of the sport of rodeo. Participation in these organizations help build strong connections with peers and industry leaders while building on skills learned in class.
Work in the Best Environment
NDSU’s Equine Center, located four miles west of the main campus, houses indoor horse stalls, an indoor riding arena and outdoor turnout space. The center is a tremendous asset to NDSU students who enjoy horses for recreation, sport or hobby. The equine science academic program conducts much of its teaching and outreach at the center.
