Hens and Chicks

Introduction
Hens and chicks are a very interesting garden plant. I have had some experience in gardening with these neat looking plants during the past couple summers. I bought some cob web hens and chicks and I also was given some hens and chicks from a neighbor down the road. This summer my hens and chicks did not do as well as I would have liked them to because I tried to fertilize them with some horse manure. The manure built up around my hens and chicks and caused some of them to die and rot along with the manure. One other problem that I have had with growing my hens and chicks has been my mom’s chickens. Believe it or not chickens love hens and chicks. It is very frustrating coming out to your flower garden and discovering that the hens and chicks that you have been laboring to plant have vanished into the beak of a chicken. My hen and chick garden has been a great experience for me despite the difficulties that I have had with growing them. These plants are still some of my favorite horticultural plants.
