It's possible that many people believe that plants can only be grown using a seed. In fact, before taking Horticulture in college I had no idea it was possible to do otherwise. The thing is, it is very possible and a quite fascinating phenomenom. Before getting too deep into anything think of it this way. If people were like plants, when someone lost a limb like an arm or a leg they could go into the doctor and get some growth regulator put on the wound and regenerate the limb! Now even though this isn't possible with humans it can be done on plant using certain chemicals. Now it is not exactly as I said it before. The plants to not regenerate their limbs, they are actually growing into a whole new plant. A way that this can be done is using cutting propagation. A part of the plant with a bud or two on the top is removed from the mother plant and then dipped in a growth regulator in either liquid form or powder form. The portion that has chemical is planted into a growing medium. The growth regulators used should inhibit rooting and shoot expansion.
