Identification key to the Noctuinae occurring in the Dakotas

 

C2.  (C1)  Median area of fws clay-white, hws heavily infuscated (male) or fuscous (female);
        fws appear paler than hws.     Agrotis stigmosa Morrison.

    

         

C2.'  Median area of fws warm brown, hws white (male) or infuscated (female); fws always
        darker than hws.  Agrotis volubilis Harvey.

          

 

C2." Median area of fws gray-brown with discernible median shade, hws dusky
        in both sexes. Agrotis obliqua (Smith).
