Identification key to the Notodontidae occurring in the Dakotas
Note: when comparing the eighth sternite photographs at NDmoths with the published figures from Forbes 1948, recall that those black and white drawings are inverted and, not always oriented perpendicular to the viewer. As such, a completely erroneous interpretation of the characters portrayed is possible from the Forbes figures. Particularly note Lochmaeus bilineata and Heterocampa biundata in this regard.
