Cucullia postera Guenée 1852

Common name: listed here as ‘Suffused hooded owlet.’

Hodges #: 10198.

Identification: Rfw 19.6 mm, fw blue-gray with brown along inner margin and from reniform spot to outer margin; pm line defined by dark areas proximad and distad, hw fuscous, darker outwardly. See Cucullia key.

Similar species: 10190, 10194, 10197, 10200, 10201, and 10202.

Distribution: Canada and northern United States, south in Rockies to Mexico.

Hosts: unknown due to confusion with other species, but possibly Solidago– goldenrods and Aster– asters.
