Heliothis acesias Felder & Rogenhofer 1874

Common name: listed here as ‘Orange phlox moth.’

Hodges: 11072.1.

Identification: Rfw 14.3 mm, fw with median shade weakly convex, appearing to pass through reniform, hw with orange ground color; male vesica with shallow eversions at base rather than true diverticula.

Similar species: 11072, 11077, and 11132.

Distribution: central Canada and northern United States, south in Rockies to Nevada.

Hosts: uncertain due to confusion with 11072 but probably polyphagous.
